• On October 11, 2007, Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Management Committee, Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment, Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co., Ltd. and Global Emerging, LLC reached an agreement to strengthen cooperation and exchange between Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Based on this agreement, Global Emerging, the parent company of Massachusetts Technology Center, will establish a subsidiary in China to serve as a platform for cooperation.

  • On October 25, 2007, Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park’s CEO and other senior officials visited Massachusetts and met with Secretary O’Connell and other government officials to finalize the agreement to enhance trade and exchanges between these two regions and to increase brand awareness of Massachusetts. The delegation met with about 50 CEO’s and senior executives in high-tech and education industries to discuss the opportunities of cooperation. They also met with investors and board members of Global Emerging and Massachusetts Technology Center to finalize the operating plan of expanding the center in Shanghai Zhangjiang.

  • On December 6, 2007, Governor Deval Patrick attended the official opening of the Massachusetts Technology Center on Thursday at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, encouraging innovation and collaboration between businesses in Massachusetts and China.

  • On April 16, 2008, Christa Bleyleben, Executive Director of Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment, visited Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and attended the ribbon-cutting of exchange commencement with government officials in Zhangjiang and Pudong New District, Shanghai.

  • On May 16, 2008, a medical devices company in Massachusetts, Zoll Medical Corporation, signed a 2-years agreement with Massachusetts Technology Center to establish a sales office in the Center.

  • On May 28, 2008, a bio-tech company in Massachusetts, New England Bio-Labs, signed a 2-years agreement with Massachusetts Technology Center to establish a R&D division in the Center.

  • On October 15, 2008, Asia Merge & Acquisition Summit and Asia Merge & Acquisition Atlas Awards was held in Dongjiao State Hotel, Shanghai, China. The organizers are Global M&A Network, Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Company, Massachusetts Technology Center, and Asia America Chamber of Commerce. Sponsors are NYSE Euronext, Shanghai Zhangjiang Technology Park and Massachusetts Technology Center.

  • On October 16, 2008, Massachusetts Technology Center, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Company, Shanghai Zhangjiang Institute for Innovation signed four party agreement to promote education degree and training certification programs to Shanghai in the areas of IT project management and leadership development.

  • On May 6, 2009, Massachusetts Technology Center hosted an Investment and Incubator Services Event for Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. 15 companies signed LOI with the technology Park for potential partnership, investment, incubation and technology transfer.

  • On November 10, 2009, Massachusetts Technology Center introduced another 15 companies to Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park for potential partnership, investment, incubation and technology transfer.
